How frequently to visit your area's craigslist site looking for one or two specific things you want to get? Have you ever been beaten to the deal by someone else? Frustrating, isn't it? Have you ever checked more than one location looking for the same thing? Then you come back, see an ad, click on it, and find out it's the same one you turned down last time.

It's happened to us too and we got tired of going back to check craigslist over and over and over again, so we wrote something to watch for us. We call it clNotify. This service checks several craigslist.org locations and/or craigslist categories looking for any keywords within the minimum and maximum price you specify. When it finds something, it sends you an email or text message and you didn't have to do anything. Better yet, it won't tell you about the same thing over and over again, one alert is sent with any ads matching your selection found since the last check and it won't tell you again about that same crappy couch you looked at and turned down because it smelled like a dumpster. It's quick, simple and easy.
If you spend just five minutes a day browsing craigslist, that adds up to two and a half hours a month.
